ABW zatrzymała sześć osób podejrzanych o przemyt łusek i pocisków do Rosji przez obwód królewiecki. Poniżej: krótka wiadomość prostym angielskim (poziom B1), słowniczek 10 słów i 3 pytania. Najpierw przeczytaj tekst bez słownika – zobacz, ile rozumiesz z kontekstu.
Fakty pochodzą z depeszy PAP i tekstu Notes from Poland z 5 listopada 2026 r. Podejrzani usłyszeli zarzuty, ale nie zapadł wyrok – nikt nie jest uznany za winnego.
- Kto: pięciu Polaków (25–52 lata) i 37-letnia Rosjanka.
- Co: części do amunicji warte ponad 2 mln zł miały trafić do Rosji bez wymaganego zezwolenia.
- Jak długo: co najmniej od czerwca 2023 r. do grudnia 2025 r.
What happened?
On Thursday, 5 November, Polish officials said that the Internal Security Agency (ABW) had detained six people. Five of them are Polish citizens aged 25 to 52. The sixth person is a 37-year-old Russian woman.
According to prosecutors, the group bought parts for ammunition – cartridge cases and bullets – partly in online shops. Then they took the goods to the Kaliningrad region, a part of Russia between Poland and Lithuania. They used cars with hidden compartments and crossed the border many times. Polish border officers stopped some of the cars. The goods were worth more than 2 million zloty.
Officers searched 21 places in three regions of Poland between 21 October and 2 November. All six people are charged with being part of an organised criminal group. Four of them are also charged with spying for Russian intelligence for money. A court sent these four to jail while they wait for trial. The other two are free, but under police control.
Why does it matter?
Exporting weapon parts to Russia without permission is against the law in Poland and the EU. Tomasz Siemoniak, the minister who coordinates Poland’s special services, said that almost 100 people have been named suspects in ABW spying and sabotage cases since January 2024. He also said that Russian services more and more often work with criminal groups. Earlier this week Poland also started a special police operation on the border – we wrote about it in our English lesson about the border operation.
