Polska zrobiła kolejny krok w stronę drugiej elektrowni jądrowej: Ministerstwo Energii, PEJ i PGE podpisały 13 października 2026 r. porozumienie o podziale zadań, a faworytami na lokalizację są Bełchatów i Konin. Poniżej ta wiadomość prostym angielskim (poziom B1), słowniczek na 10 słów i 3 pytania sprawdzające.
Informacje o porozumieniu podały m.in. RMF24 i anglojęzyczny portal Notes from Poland, powołując się na wpis ministra energii Miłosza Motyki.
News in English: Poland takes a new step towards a second nuclear plant
Poland has taken a new step towards building its second nuclear power plant. On 13 October 2026, the Ministry of Energy signed an agreement with two state companies: Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ) and PGE.
The agreement says who will do what. PEJ will be the investor and will coordinate the project. PGE, the biggest electricity producer in Poland, will study possible locations and prepare the first feasibility studies.
Where will the new plant be? The final location has not been chosen yet. Two towns in central Poland are the favourites: Bełchatów and Konin. Bełchatów already has the largest coal power station in Europe. Both places have power lines and workers with experience in energy.
Poland also needs a foreign partner with the right technology. Companies from the United States, France and Canada are interested. The government wants to choose the partner in 2027.
It is a long project. Building work should start around 2032, and the first reactor may produce electricity around 2040. The first Polish nuclear plant will be built in Pomerania, near the Baltic Sea.
Why is this important? Coal still makes about half of Poland’s electricity. That is the highest share in the European Union. A nuclear plant does not produce CO2 when it works, so it can help Poland to burn less coal.

Jaka gramatyka kryje się w tym newsie?
W tekście są dwie konstrukcje, które często sprawiają kłopot. Pierwsza to will przy planach i decyzjach: PEJ will be the investor. Kiedy użyć will, a kiedy going to, wyjaśniamy w poradniku Will czy going to: jak mówić o przyszłości po angielsku.
Druga to strona bierna: The final location has not been chosen yet albo will be built.
